"Lime Sugar Skull" Acrylic, and mixed media on square canvas. For my sugar skull series, I would take models' from magazines, paint their faces white, and then zentangle them. I would then give their eyes, noses, and lips, sugar skull-like features, and paint their hair very bright colors. I started this one on the magazine page, so I was left with a 8.5 x 11 page. I ended up glueing this whole page to a square canvas, and then modge podged some more magazine paper with print on it, to the left side of my sugar skull. I brayered some yellow and white paint over that to give it some texture and then watered down some black and pink acrylics to do the drippy swirled foliage. I then modge podged over the whole canvas to give it that shiny lacquered look.
