ABOUT THE SONG
I wrote this song when I was in my first year of art school around 2002. I just wrote it about the cattiness that young girls display toward one another. I had encountered that a lot growing up, and I really wanted to put it into song. The lyrics are a bit amateur, but it was only the 3rd song I had ever written, so I’d like to give myself a little credit where credit is due. I would love to re-record this at some point, in my adult voice. You can really hear my immaturity and lack of dynamic and control in my young little teen voice. Words & Music By Justina Carubia Self Titled EP ©2003 Verse 1: She sits in class fixin’ her face As if someone really cared She looks up from her mirror Givin’ off her evil stares Pre Chorus: She goes back To her world Of perfection In that piece of glass in her hand I roll my eyes And turn away As she flips her hair once again Chorus: Don’t worry bout first impressions Her face is all that matters to her Don’t drop that mirror girl It’ll shatter your perfect world doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo Oh whoa uh-huh uh-huh Whoa- Hey -oh -oh Verse 2: You think you’d have egg on your face The way she stares you down As you walk on by And your clothes, they’re not her taste You could tell by the way That she rolls her eyes Pre Chorus: I’m sorry that I can’t live up To your expectations, whoa whoa You’re too stuck up, I give up! I won’t even try to be nice… Chorus: Don’t worry bout first impressions Her face is all that matters to her Don’t drop that mirror girl It’ll shatter your perfect world Bridge: I hope one day for that price you’ll pay For all those dirty looks and the things you’d say Outro: I hope you drop your world I hope you drop your world…
